Electric gates are what I do – and I've been doing it for 25 years. I design, supply, automate and fit electric gates for homes, farms and businesses right across Northern Ireland, and I look after them afterwards too.
If you're thinking about electric gates, you're in the right place. Have a look around, and if you've any questions at all, just give me a call.

The automation I use
For new installations I fit DEA System automation on domestic and commercial gates, and Fadini hydraulic automation where the gates are heavy-duty or work hard all day. Both are Italian manufacturers with a long track record, and both make kit that's reliable and well supported for parts.

Why those two? Because I'd rather fit kit I know inside out and trust than whatever's cheapest this month. More in the brands I use.
Types of electric gate automation
| Type | What it is | Starting price |
|---|---|---|
| Overground | Motor arms fitted to the gates and posts – the most common choice | from £1,800 |
| Underground | Motors hidden in the ground under each gate – nothing on show | from around £2,400 |
| Hydraulic | Fadini hydraulics for heavy, large or busy gates | price on survey |
| Sliding | A motor drives the gate sideways along a track | from £1,400 |
Not sure which is right for you? I compare them in comparing gate motor types.
Gates for every property
- Automatic gates for homes – convenience, privacy and peace of mind.
- Security gates – for businesses, yards, farms and anyone who needs a properly secure entrance.
- Electric driveway gates – wrought iron, composite or wood, made to measure.
- Existing gates – already have gates? I can usually automate them.
Opening your gate
You can open your gates with remotes, a keypad, an intercom, a fob, your phone, or a mix of all of them. See access control and gate remote controls.
Fitted safely, every time
A powered gate is a machine, and the law treats it as one. Every gate I install has the right safety devices, is force tested to BS EN 12453, and comes with a Declaration of Conformity and the manuals. Read more about gate safety and the law in Northern Ireland.

Questions people ask me
How much do electric gates cost?
Automation starts from £1,400 for sliding gates, £1,800 for overground motors and around £2,400 for underground. New gates start from £1,600. See gate costs.
Which is better – underground or overground motors?
Underground motors are hidden, which looks neater. Overground motors cost less and are easier to service. It depends on your gates and your budget.
Do electric gates work in a power cut?
Not without battery backup, which I can fit. Every gate also has a manual release so you can open it by hand.
Do you install commercial gates?
Yes – for businesses, yards, farms and apartment developments, often with Fadini hydraulics for heavy or busy gates.
