The Gate Automation Brands I Use: DEA System and Fadini

There are dozens of gate automation brands out there, from very good to downright dodgy. After 25 years of fitting and fixing just about all of them, I've settled on two for new installations:

• DEA System for all domestic and commercial gates
• Fadini for heavy-duty hydraulic gate automation

Here's why.

Why I stick to two brands

When you fit the same kit week in, week out, you get to know it inside out – how to set it up so it runs sweetly, what goes wrong with it, and how to fix it fast. That means:

• better installations, set up properly first time
• quicker repairs, because I know the systems and carry the common parts
• parts that are available for years, not discontinued next season
• the whole system – motors, control board, safety devices and accessories – designed to work together

DEA System

DEA System is an Italian manufacturer of gate and door automation. Their range covers overground, underground and sliding gate motors, control boards, safety devices and accessories, for everything from a small domestic gate to a busy commercial entrance.

What I like about DEA:

• reliable, well-built motors that cope with our weather
• control boards that are sensible to set up, with good safety features
• a range wide enough to cover nearly every gate I'm asked to automate

Fadini

Fadini is an Italian company known for hydraulic gate automation. When a gate is heavy, large, exposed to the wind or used all day long, hydraulics are the right tool for the job, and Fadini is who I trust for them. See hydraulic gate automation.

What about other brands?
