Gibidi is an Italian gate automation brand, and a lot of the Gibidi systems I'm called to in Northern Ireland have been in for a good few years. That's fine – I'm happy to work on older kit, and I'll always tell you straight whether it's worth repairing.
Gibidi repairs
- swing and sliding gate motors that have slowed, stopped or got noisy
- control boards – faults, water damage and lost settings
- photocells and safety edges
- remotes and receivers
Keeping an older system going
When a Gibidi system has been running for years, I look at the whole gate, not just the part that's failed:

- Is the gate itself sound? Worn hinges or a dropped gate will wreck a new motor too.
- Can I get the part? Some older parts are still available; others aren't.
- Is it safe? Older installations sometimes lack the safety devices a gate should have.
- What's the best value? Sometimes a repair; sometimes a new control board running your existing motors; sometimes new automation.
You get the options and the prices, and I'll tell you what I'd do if it were mine. See upgrading old gate motors and control boards.

Questions people ask me
Do you repair old Gibidi gate motors?
Yes. If parts aren't available, I'll suggest the most sensible alternative.
Can a new control board work with my Gibidi motors?
Often, yes, if the motors are in good condition.
My Gibidi gate has no photocells. Is that a problem?
Yes – it should have them. I can add them as part of the repair.
