Chamberlain and its LiftMaster range are best known for garage door openers, but they make gate motors too – and plenty of them have ended up on driveways in Northern Ireland, sometimes bought as kits. I repair Chamberlain LiftMaster gate systems whoever fitted them.
What I repair
- gate motors that have stopped, slowed or started making noise
- control boards and power supplies
- photocells and safety devices
- remotes and receivers – including systems that also run a Chamberlain garage door
If your gate was a kit
Some Chamberlain LiftMaster gate motors were bought online and fitted by the homeowner or a handyman. If that's your gate, I'll check more than just the fault:

- Is the motor the right size for the gate? An undersized motor will keep failing.
- Are the right safety devices fitted and working?
- Do the closing forces meet BS EN 12453?
- Is the wiring safe and properly protected?
If the system can be made safe and reliable, I'll do that. If it can't, I'll tell you honestly and give you a price for proper automation. See why I don't recommend DIY gate kits.
